Got back to where we'd left our tender on the rocks at Trefusis point in Falmouth to find that some ******* had swiped it! In broad daylight!

I think they must have rowed off in it! Which is audacious considering the very public and relatively busy location!

We'd still kept our old inflatable in the cockpit locker as nobody seemed to want to buy it, forunately, so I stripped off and swam out to Isabella. Quite chilly it was, and there was a bit of a current, so it was quite exciting! Unsure what we'd have done without the spare. Really glad we had it, and spare oars.

Hopefully our insurance will cover it but our excess is quite high, and we'll lose any no-claims obviously, so it's going to sting a bit.

Have a scout around for it as you may well find it abandoned somewhere. Probably kids having a laugh, although it ain't funny!!! Report the theft to the harbour master and the police, the more trees you shake, the more stuff might fall out so to speak. Karen is uber- security concious when it comes to the boat, hence we are the only tender tied up with two ropes and a bloody great chain and padlock. Houdini would struggle to make a quick getaway in it. I know what you mean about claiming on the insurance too. We made a claim for some damage that someone else caused and then buggered off! Premium is still £100 a year more and that was a few years ago. The insurance companys are sharks!!!
Had planned to be in Falmouth from Saturday as we are taking some time off but the boat in Scotland has become available so it's a week on Bute, Arran and Loch Fyne for us. Bedt the weather will be shite again!!!!

Good luck with tracking down the tender. Was it the Walker Bay by the way???

Two ropes and a chain - sounds like a plan!! Yep, the Walker Bay it was. Insurers (GJW) have said "it won't affect our premium as we have protected no claims". Didn't realise that. So as long as we stay with GJW we'll be OK.

Hope you get nice weather in Scotland!!!

Sorry to hear that Jeff - obviously watch eBay for yours coming up for sale, I do have a WB 275RID ( the one with the tube around it ) that I'm not using atm - don't want to sell it but could loan if it helps ? Cheers, Alex

Wow, thank you for your kind offer of a loan!! Fortunately we have a spare Avon inflatable so we're fine. But thank you so much for the offer!!
