What is the secret ?

Why is it that some forums take off, where others are so quiet ?
So many people read, but so few respond
Why ?
I know some of it's down to spy bots but so many more must be real people
Why not just say hello, and be done with it

Forums are only good if people are nice to each other, See the Eastcoast bit on other side.

Oh yes indeed, I totally agree, couldn't hope for a nicer bunch, but there's no reason why anyone would not be like that really. I mean, why else would people join in on an online forum if they want to be unpleasant ?
